CONGRESS WIKIMEDIANS

Tamsin and Mike will be undertaking a number of activities to “Wikify” the congress, including:

• Holding photo booth sessions where you can get an openly-licensed headshot taken. They will use this for your Wikipedia page or Wikidata item, and you will get a copy to use wherever else you like too.
• Wikidata clinic sessions, where they will walk you through your Wikidata item, or create one on the spot if you don't have one, check the accuracy of any facts, and show you how Wikidata can link together profiles on different sites such as ORCiD, Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and your institution. Your Wikidata item can also link to your publications and other work.
• If someone has written a Wikipedia article about you, they can help you get any problems, mistakes or out-of-date information corrected.
• If you’re not in Wikipedia, they can show you how to make it easier for someone to write an article about you.\They can also talk to you about how to get your research incorporated into Wikipedia, as part of your public outreach and to increase its impact; Wikipedia is one of top 5 platforms that send people to journal articles online.
